Thermann Electric Hot Water System
Thermann electric hot water systems use storage technology. Cold water is piped to an inlet at the bottom of the tank. An electric heating element is inside the tank at the bottom and this is what heats the water. They say hot air rises and the same applies to water. The heated water rises to the top of the tank where the outlet is located. When a hot tap is turned on, the hottest water from the top of the tank flows out. A thermostat monitors the water temperature and turns the heating element on when the stored water needs heating and off when it gets hot enough.
Thermann electric hot water systems are divided into small electric storage and large electric storage. There are two sizes in the small range - 20 and 50 litres. These are useful in situations where space is at a premium. The large electric storage units are available in the following sizes:
- 80 litres
- 125 litres
- 160 litres
- 250 litres
- 315 litres
- 400 litres
The last 3 sizes - 250, 315 and 400 litres - have twin elements to speed up the heating process.
Thermann Gas Hot Water System
Thermann gas hot water systems are available in two very different types. First there is the gas storage range. These gas hot water systems come in 2 sizes - 135 and 170 litre capacity. Like electric storage systems, cold water is piped into the bottom and hot water comes out at mains pressure from the top of the tank after it has been heated by a burner at the bottom of the tank. Because they have to keep a large body of water constantly hot, gas storage systems are not the most energy efficient way of heating water with gas. Gas continuous is much more efficient. The reason for that is that water is only heated as you need it. Gas continuous is where the Thermann brand really comes into its own with a great range of this style of gas hot water system. With a 12 year warranty on all of them, you can't go wrong. This is their range:
- C7 Continuous Flow 26L capacity 7 star rated
- 6 Star Continuous Flow 16, 20, 26L capacity 6 star rated
- 32R Continuous Flow 32L capacity 5.8 star rated
As Thermann's motto says, they are 'setting new standards'.
Thermann Solar
If you're after an energy efficient and environmentally friendly hot water system, Thermann's solar hot water systems have you covered. Thermann offer evacuated tube solar water heaters with both gas and electric booster options.
Thermann's evacuated tubes work year round to provide you with hot water when you need it most. And in the case of days where the sun simply isn't enough, the gas or electric booster can kick in. You can be confident with a Thermann solar hot water system that you'll have reliable hot water 365 days a year.
Thermann Heat Pump
Heat pumps draw air from outside into the unit with a fan and use refrigerant gas to heat this, which in turn heats your water. These systems use a small amount of electricity to power the components, but are otherwise very energy efficient, using the air alone to heat your water. Thermann can provide your home with an efficient and effective heat pump hot water system.
