Rinnai Gas Hot Water Systems
Rinnai gas hot water systems come in many different shapes, sizes and styles. They use several different forms of energy including gas, electric and solar. Once you know what fuel type you would like, you can then choose how it operates and whether you would like the reliability of a gas continuous flow system or the capacity or a gas storage system. The Rinnai gas storage systems are called Hotflo and come in two sizes – 135 or 170 litres.
Rinnai’s extensive choice of gas hot water systems makes them one of the best brands. So it’s best to get a Jim’s Plumbing expert out to advise you on what is best for you and your home. Not all gas hot water systems fit all types of homes.
Rinnai Continuous Flow Hot Water
Gas continuous flow hot water is a hot water system that only heats water as it is needed. This means that it doesn’t waste energy heating up and keeping hot a large store of water in a tank. The Rinnai gas continuous flow systems are called Infinity. Rinnai continuous flow hot water systems have various capacities that refer to the amount of water the system can heat in a minute. The Infinity 12, for example, can heat up to 12 litres of water a minute. If you have a large house with a couple of showers, a higher flow rate is preferable. These are the models:
- Rinnai Infinity 12
- Rinnai Infinity 16
- Rinnai Infinity 20
- Rinnai Infinity 26
- Rinnai Infinity 26 (Internal)
- Rinnai Infinity 26 Touch
- Rinnai Infinity 32
- Rinnai Infinity 16 ENVIRO
- Rinnai Infinity 26 ENVIRO
- Rinnai Infinity 32 ENVIRO
There is also a gas instantaneous system called Flowmaster.
Rinnai Solar Hot Water System
Rinnai solar hot water systems have a couple of ranges. They are called the Prestige Range and the Sunmaster Range. The major difference is that Sunmaster has steel tanks with a vitreous enamel lining and the Prestige range has stainless steel tanks. Both Sunmaster and Prestige have three types of solar hot water system. The first type has flat plate solar panels and the tank on the ground below. The second type combines evacuated tube solar collectors with the tank on the ground. The last type is the traditional close-coupled unit with the tank combined with the solar panels on the roof. All of these types come with either an electric or gas booster for days that are too overcast to heat the water. The evacuated tube solar hot water systems are designed for cold climates and still operate at -12 degrees C.
The gas boosted models use an efficient gas continuous flow booster to keep energy use to an absolute minimum. And that’s the best reason to choose a Rinnai solar hot water system – to cut down on energy use to cut the bills.
Rinnai Electric Hot Water System
Rinnai electric hot water systems consist of two types. There are electric heat pumps that operate on electricity but don’t use electricity to heat the water in the tank. And then there are electric storage hot water systems that heat the water in the tank with an electric element. Hotflo is the name of Rinnai’s electric storage hot water systems. The heat pumps are called Enviroflo. The advantage of electric storage hot water systems is that they deliver mains pressure hot water to more than one outlet at once. They are perfect for households with a high demand for hot water. The installation costs are not as much as for gas because they are easy to plumb in and don’t need an additional gas line. These are the Rinnai electric hot water system sizes:
- Rinnai Hotflo 25 litres
- Rinnai Hotflo 50litres
- Rinnai Hotflo 80 litres
- Rinnai Hotflo 125 litres
- Rinnai Hotflo 160 litres
- Rinnai Hotflo 250 litres
- Rinnai Hotflo 315 litres
- Rinnai Hotflo 400 litres
Rinnai electric heat pumps use very little power and are good for people who want savings on their energy bills. The Enviroflo uses R290 refrigerant to heat up the water. These are the models:
- Rinnai Enviroflo 250 litre
- Rinnai Enviroflo 315 litre
