Today at Jim's Plumbing we received a call out to a very confused customer who was having issues with her hot water system producing water that was way too hot! Our customer had two young children in the house and was concerned they would accidentally scald themselves which would result in a trip to the Emergency Room.
Fortunately for the customer, our plumber was able to attend within the hour* to get this problem sorted to avoid any harm from occurring. Once onsite, the plumber identified the hot water system to be a Dux Marathon electric hot water system. The customer advised our plumber that they never had any previous issues beforehand and would hate if the system would need to be replaced. Luckily for them, all of our plumbers are fully qualified with years of experience in an extensive range of plumbing work and he came prepared for in an attempt to repair the hot water system.
It didn't take long for our plumber to diagnose the issue as being a faulty thermostat which was in need of replacement. All of our plumbing vans come fully stocked with a vast range of parts and materials for any maintenance plumbing job, to ensure time and cost-efficiency. Meaning our plumber was able to just pop to his van to source the part and fix the issue on the spot, rather than having to source the part from a plumbing supply stores.
Our customer was relieved to find that the entire system did not need replacing. However, the customer was aware that the lifetime of the hot water system would not last too much longer so asked if the plumber could suggest future steps to take when searching for a new hot water system when the time comes. Our plumber was more than happy to provide his advice in regards to hot water system choices and answered any queries they had, in order to give them the best advice possible.
