What does the Rinnai hot water error code 3 indicate?
The Rinnai hot water error code 3 indicates a fault caused by a power interruption during an automatic bath fil. The error code 3 will only be present if you are operating your Rinnai continuous flow hot water heater with a wired or wireless temperature controller that provides the bath fill capability.
If a power interruption occurs during the automatic bath fill the water will not continue to flow upon the power being reinstated and the Rinnai fault code 3 will begin to flash on the digital status monitor on either your unit or water controller.
How to clear the Rinnai error code 3
You should be able to clear the Rinnai fault code 3 by turning all of your hot water taps to the off position and then pressing the on/off button on your hot water system to off and then turn it back on again. The code 3 fault code should now be removed and you should be able to continue running your bath once more.
Should the Rinnai fault code 3 appear again after following the above steps this may indicate a problem with your property’s power supply and it could be worth calling in a qualified electrician to have this looked into.
