Rinnai hot water fault code 11 is indicating no ignition or no gas supply on your continuous flow hot water system. If you follow the instructions below then you may be able to eliminate the need for a service call:
If the Rinnai hot water error code 11 is flashing on the digital monitor of your unit, or on the status monitor if you have a hot water controller installed, the first thing that you should do is check that your gas supply is turned on at the water heater or gas meter.
You can check if your gas supply is working as it should be by turning your gas stove on and then turning a hot water tap on. – a gas supply issue may be present if the flame on the stove drops in pressure, of if your gas stove does not work then there is no gas supply present.
To turn on your gas supply:
To turn your gas supply on, if it has been shut off, you should first ensure that all of your household appliance taps and controls are turned off. When dealing with a gas hot water heater you also need to ensure that the water taps are off also.
To turn your natural gas back on turn the meter valve to the on position, located within your gas meter box. For LPG turn the valve at the top of the cylinder anti-clockwise to the on position.
Rinnai hot water fault code 11 troubleshooting:
Your Rinnai continuous flow hot water heater is operated by an electronic ignition; therefore no gas pilot light is needed to be re-lit.
If you followed the steps above and determined that your gas supply was turned off you may now be able to remove the Rinnai fault code 11 by simply turning the hot water tap to off and then turning it on again.
If the Rinnai error code 11 remains try pushing the On/Off button on your system to off and then push it on again.
