About Rinnai HOTFLO Heat Pump
A Rinnai Hotflo heat pump can save you up to 25% on your ongoing hot water bills! Classed in the same category as solar powered hot water heaters, Rinnai have two heat pump options available:
- Hotflo Split Heat Pump
- Hotflo Integrated Heat Pump
Both models are electric heat pump hot water storage systems which heat the water via the use of the ambient outside air.
Making them an ideal alternative to a solar powered system, especially when you don’t have the option to install solar collectors on your roof; with the same footprint design as an electric storage hot water heater they also make for an easy replacement option.
How does a Rinnai heat pump work?
The Rinnai Hotflo heat pump range uses around one third less power when compared to a standard electric hot water heater.
The application works in much the same way as a refrigerator but in reverse.
Even if the outside air feels cold to us it will still be warmer than the refrigerant in the heat pump; this air is drawn in via a fan and heats the refrigerant turning it into a high temperature gas.
The gas is then pumped around and the heat is transferred via a heat exchanger to heat your water being stored in the tank. As heat is drawn into the tank the refrigerant cools down again allowing the process to begin once more.
Which Rinnai heat pump is right for me?
If you would like to save money on your hot water heating requirements by using a highly renewable energy source then a heat pump hot water heater is the ideal solution.
As it is classed in the same category as a solar powered hot water heater there are generous government rebates in place upon the installation of a new heat pump, making them extremely cost effective – both upon purchasing and in regards to your ongoing energy bills.
The two types of heat pumps available from Rinnai include;
Rinnai Hotflo Split Heat Pump
The Rinnai Hotflo Split heat pump consists of two sections and is ideal for an internal installation or replacement of an existing internal hot water storage tank.
If you would rather the system be installed externally this is a viable option also.
The Hotflo Split heat pump consists of a commercial grade stainless steel tank along with a compact compressor.
The tank capacity is 265 litres and is backed by Rinnai’s extremely generous warranty terms.
Rinnai Hotflo Integrated Heat Pump
The Rinnai Hotflo Integrated heat pump is an all in one system that allows for quick and easy installation.
It is the ideal solution for replacing an electric storage hot water system as the design footprint is the same.
The storage cylinder is coated with vitreous enamel to allow for longer lasting durability and has a capacity of 259 litres.
The Hotflo Integrated heat pump is hard water compatible and backed by Rinnai’s comprehensive warranty terms.
