Bosch Hot Water Heater Fault or Error Code E05 Troubleshooting Guide
Hot water is taken for granted until something goes wrong with your hot water heater – leaving you with a cold and unpleasant shower or a sink full of dirty dishes.
Hot water heaters are advanced systems requiring many different parts to allow for your water to be heated and to be maintained at safe levels.
Thankfully, Bosch have thought of everything when it comes to your hot water heater. Their advanced knowledge in the industry allows for them to continually upgrade their hot water systems providing reliable, durable and smart hot water systems to suit the Australian environment.
One of the advanced features of the Bosch hot water heaters is their ability to self-diagnose any fault that may occur within the unit. If you have the hot water temperature controller installed with your Bosch hot water heater then a fault code will flash on the monitor alerting you to a problem and allowing you to know exactly what is wrong just by the error code that is on display.
One of the Bosch fault codes that you may come across is the E05 hot water error display.
What does the E05 code mean in relation to my Bosch hot water heater?
An E05 fault code may display if you have a Bosch Compress 3000 heat pump installed. This error code means that there is a fault in the temperature sensor at the systems evaporator fins.
The heat pump evaporator fins require good airflow for the system to provide you with optimal performance. A build-up of grass or debris on the evaporator fins may cause the Bosch E05 error code to display.
The evaporator fins are thin pieces of metal which bring the required air in closer to the coils to allow for the hot water heating process. A problem with the evaporator fins may cause impaired functionality, higher than average energy use, higher or lower water temperatures or even frost or ice build-up.
How to correct the Bosch E05 fault code on my hot water heater
To effectively clear the Bosch E05 error display you should enlist the services of a fully qualified technician to investigate and either clean or repair the fins, and check or replace the temperature sensor on your hot water system.
